I know this is bad to say, but I haven't spoken to them for a few days...if something bad happens to them then they deserve it for going down there in the first place. Probably best for them to be gone before they end up producing more dumbasses that do similar things.

No. Frances is fizzling out somewhere over Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Carolinas area..... gonna be a LOT of rain there as well the next few days... Hell, we're supposed to get 5 inches of it here in PA and we're 800 miles north of all of the fireworks...

You might be thinking of "Ivan" - mother nature's latest creation of swirling winds, driving rains, storm surges, and general devestation - heading towards your favorite Caribbean island (insert name here) and possibly southern Florida... (towards Northcat's friends.....)

Glad to see that you're Ok... I had my first brush with a hurricane in al long time last year with, Isabele. Being on well/septic with no electric for a week was a bitch, not to mention the clean up.

I went through Hurricane Dora in '64 when I was 8. I still remember it pretty vividly. Mostly I recall the power being out for 2 weeks, oak trees being down all over and lots of flooding along the river. The storm itself was pretty scary, but we didn't get any damage. If memory serves it was a category 2 and struck about 30 miles south.

The worst was Hurricane Camille, with winds up around 200 mph! It destroyed much of the Gulfport/Biloxi MS area. We drove through the area a few years later and the damage was still visible....

I remember watching a show on Camille either on the History channel or the Weather channel, just last year.... All I can say about that was I can only imagine what they went through down there - the pictures and video only tell a small part of any story, and I had seen enough to make me have a lot of respect for mother nature and the chaos she creates....

While I agree that it would have been interesting, had I been single I probably would have went. But since the family began my whole goal in life has been to not get dead. I've been doing pretty good...I'm getting better at it

Here's what I don't get. Some of the same people that say 'oooh no, they have earthquakes' when I talk about how nice Cali is, would turn around and say 'I'd love to retire and move to Florida.'
Nothng against Florida or Floridians (other than the whole 'newbie voting' thing), but in seems like almost every year there's a hurricane (or two). I've been in a 6.8 and it wasn't anything to write home about. Not to mention that I knew my house was still where I left it at the end of the day.

I would have went just to experience it. When I hopefully return to America in a couple of years for my roadtrip I am definitely planning on spending time chasing a few tornados.

Wife started out just like every other girlfriend...she was just some girl I wanted to ****, I did, then I decided to keep doing it and then there is a black out and I woke up married...I don't know what the **** happened.

While I love my wife and all of that, we were 2 completely seperate people before and we could be again...if I go home today and she is packed up and gone, sure I will be upset...but keep it straight, there are 3 billion women on this planet, I'm sure I can find another one...hell, I already have 4 picked out.

I know you were teasing me Pac, that's cool....I'm in a meeting right now, and they think I use my notebook to take notes they are talking about somethi. . . ....well I don't really know...but tell me, has Algebra changed in the past 200 years?? See, I didn't think so....that's what I love about educated people, they refuse to believe that something is already as streamlined and as efficient as it can be...but yet as math teachers they do realize that limits exist....go figure.
