When watching a widescreen movie on a standard 4:3 TV, the subtitles are often over picture itself and not on the black area underneath it. I have seen some movies that use the area below the pictures, but many do not. When backing up a DVD. is there any program that would move the subtitles down so there are not covering the lower part of the picture? I have DVDFab, and it will move move subtitles, but in the opposite direction from what I want.
I'm guessing that if this can be done, and I ever got a widescreen television it might present a problem. But I'm making these backups primariy for my 82 year old mother-in-law who lives with us, and she's never going get a widesecreen TV.

Hi, I dont think theres software out there that could place the sub title below the picture. Theres one thing you could try tho. On your dvd player go to the screen setup. Instead of setting it to 16x9, set it to 4x3.
The subtitle will show below the picture.
hope this hopes
