I am looking for a free utility that will convert these photos someone sent me. They are in .pct (Mac) format. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Thanks, but no simply changing the extension doesn't help. I tried downloading Advanced Batch Converter but it doesn't like this format either?

Something I thought would be so simple...!?

Would probably work if he had an app that could read .pct which really doesn't change anything.

They do make this wonderful thing called a search engine. It finds stuff

Wow, I just discovered this thing called "Google", amazing!

Ha, actually I was narrowing my search down to "freeware" and there's not much out there, if anything at all.

But I think I can use a trial version for my purposes (just a handful of pics).

Also a lot of this stuff is command-based, and I'm scared of that!

Also the stuff I find is huge files, 15MB or so (I got dial-up).

Anyhow I'm downloading a 15MB demo software & hopefully that'll do the job.

    Bloody Apple!!!

The trick to using any search engine is never type the word free or word containing free. You might as well type "hand me a can o' spam"

  11. Photoshop will convert .pct to bmp and jpeg. I also think Quicktime will do it (at least you can view them there), but you will probably have to have the 'Pro' edition (not the free plugin download for IE).
If it works, don't fix it.
