  1. Hi Guys,

here is my problem. I have Nero 5.5.5.1 and the mpg2 plugin bought legally (both).
I converted some movie trailers with QTPro to uncompressed avi, plays fine in Windows Media Player.
Now i setup Nero for SVCD, it converted the avi and burned the CD.
When i try to play the SVCD in my DVDROM with PowerDVD 3.0 it says unsupported format. PowerDVD3.0 can play SVCD right ? Even Window Media Player cant play the MPG2, it says it couldnt find any rendering filter.
I even installed the mpg2 codec found on this page under download/codecs.
MPG1 VCD works fine. But the Quality really sucks.

    WTF ?

  2. I,ve got the same setup and it works fine for me. Make sure you use the 'File browser' in Power DVD, go to the MPEG2 folder on your SVCD and 'add' the MPEGS into your play folder in the order you want them played. Click OK. Bingo!

  3. Or you can try PowerDVD XP 4 and it will play the SVCD as it should without the need of using the file browser.

  5. Thanks guys, it works with the File Browser, but still i dont understand why it says unsupported format. Maybe its this MPEG2 and MPEGAV issue ? Some players only accept SVCDs if the Folder name ist a little different.
