Not much to go on here...
Go to Tools link on the left, then search by tools for 'Burn'. Gives a list of Burning tools. There's plenty of freeware tools as well, eg Burn4free and CDBurnerXPpro seem to get mentioned a bit (I don't use either of them, but there are plenty of comments on them as well).

Other things to consider - what media are you using ie. the speed of the media. Also, I've noticed that some softwares seem to go slower at the Lead-In and Lead-Out parts of burning the DVD. Try some other tools and see how they go.
Also the DVD Media link on the left has a search for media that was 'burnt with this writer' so you can see what media other people recommend for the burner you have.

Is your computer by chance an HP? I recently bought an HP with a dvd+rw drive. It also came with windvd creator. I had captured some videos with my capture software and then rendered it. I then installed a program that I had for making dvds called DVD Complete. I authored the dvd and burned it. When I played it the video was jerky.

I then tried WinDVD. The video was not jerky but the audio and video were out of sync. It turns out that the encoder associated with DVD Complete was making the video jittery. As far as WinDVD, it was desyncing my audio and video when it rerendered it, which I didn't want to to do anyway because I had already rendered it. I would not recommend using WinDVD except for rendering slideshows, because the audio/video sync is not such an issue.

First off, what format are you capturing your video in? You should try to find a program that will capture it in MPEG-2 DVD format. If you live in North America or Japan you will want to use these settings: NTSC 720x480 29.97 frames per second. This is known as d1 (1/2 d1 has a video size of 352x480 which works too). Anyway, if you can capture in mpeg 2 dvd d1 that is great because then you don't have to render, which is what is taking most of the time in WinDVD.

Next, if you want to just cut out some parts of the video I would suggest using demux, found here:
    http://www.geocities.com/ted_rossin/tools/Video/Video.html
    Thank Ted Rossin for demux.
This will split your video in an m2v (video) and some type of audio file. If the audio file is not mp2, download BeSweet and BeSweet GUI and convert it to mp2. Then import those files into MPEG2Schnitt, which will let you cut out parts of the video and make a new file without rendering.

Once you are ready to create the menus and burn the dvd (this is called authoring the dvd), I would recommend downloading GUI for DVD Author. This is my personal favorite, but there is also another program called DVD Authorgui, which is different. Anyway, with GUI for DVD Author, import your files in the order you want them to play. You can make a background picture for your menu, add music, and even add an intro movie. Once you do all this, click create dvd. This will make 2 folders in the location of your choosing. The 2 folders are AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.

Then open up your favorite dvd burning software (mine is Record Now, it came with my computer) or you can download something from here. All you need it to do is burn a data dvd. So import your AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders into a new data dvd, and only those folders. Click burn and your all set. No rendering, the whole process will be alot shorter!

Another great piece of software is slideshow movie maker, for making slideshows out of your pictures. All the software I have mentioned is free. If you have any other questions just ask.

Sorry, I got it fixed. I'm just trying to be complete. I always hate it when I don't have enough info.
