  1. Hi, I wasn't really sure about posting this in on these boards but Im hoping that someone here may have the technical knowledge that might also be applicable to my query...which is as follows,

I recently purchased Unreal Tournament 2004 (6 disc version) on ebay and was wondering if there was any way that I could put all 6 discs on a DVD so that when installing the game I could do it from 1 DVD (like the DVD version).

I realize the way the 6 disc instalation works (ie. once each disc has been installed it asks for the next one) and so im not sure if what I want to do can actually be done but if there is a way I would be really grateful if anyone here could put me on the right path.

    Thx,
    jip

Depending on the file structure, it may be as simple as copying all the files to one disc.
    Example: data1.cab = 600 megs, data2.cab = 635 megs, etc.

The harder way is to put each disc in its own folder on the DVD, then when it asks for disc 2, 3, etc., you just point it to the right folder.

I think it may be a simple matter of the first method. That's what I used to do with all of my floppy-based games. The full version of Doom, for example (originally on five r so floppies).

That or you could create ISO images of each disc, burn them all on a DVD and mount each image to a separate drive with something like Daemon Tools.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  4. Hehe, I just tried it the first way (copied each disc into a folder that I created) and installed from that, seems to be ok so I guess I can now just burn that on to a DVD.

    Thx for the replies,
    jip.
