Recently changed over from Ritek to Taiyo Yudens from Rima and am getting a lot of call backs about freezing discs than I ever did with Ritek and some of these are from title sets created on a computer and burned to the discs in question......no disc to disc or disc to image to disc. I pan through everything before it leaves here on a Pioneer player and rarely find a bad disc but do seem to find more than I did with Ritek. I am using the TY 4x and am burning at 4x using several different Pioneer burners on several different computers.
I guess I will try burning at 2x and see what happens or maybe go to a different brand again. After looking through the forum I seem to be the only one having a problem or maybe this is just the tip of the iceburg. It seems every manufacturer cuts corners once they establish a large consumer base and maybe this is what has happened here. It would explain why the price has dropped drastically on this brand. I will check with Rima to see if they purchased from the manufacturer or a middleman. Maybe I have a bunch of fakes even though DVDInfoPro shows TY.
Anyone....????

I didn't think that the TY 4x agreed any more with my Pioneer 106 than the Ritek G04s do, so I stuck with Ritek. Specifically what models and firmware are you using? That can make all the difference.
