  1. I tried to backup an entire DVD using DVD Shrink but it always gives the message:

"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continues.

    Copy protection error

The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

I know I can use DVD Decryptor to copy the DVD on my HD but then why DVD Shrink shows Full Disc Backup? Do I need to make some changes in the Preferences (I use the default settings)?

    There is probably a scratch.

Shrink can back up an entire dvd.

  3. I tried with LOTR 3 (no scratches) and any other DVD in my collection. I still cannot backup the whole DVD. I am using DVDShrink 3.2

I tried version 3.1 and still got the same problem. My Highlander DVD does not show an encryption (bought from Fry's Electronics) and I can back it up. However when I tried any DVD that has encryption, it fails.

    I am using WinXP Pro SP1 with ASPI 4.60, sony DRU510A 1.0c.

You could try updating your firmware.

use DVD REGION KILLER instead of ANYDVD. There could be a software conflict with having ANYDVD installed on your computer. DVD REGION KILLER is a freeware.

My sony DRU510A has the latest firmware.

  10. Where can I get 3.05 beta version? All the sites shows version 3.2. The official site has version 3.17 and up.
