Hello all.
I have converted a couple of projects now using svcd2dvd. I have a common problem with a couple of the rips. Every 1 second there seems to be a freeze or possible duplicate frame. Sound continues fine and is in sync. anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like a NTSC mpeg authored as PAL or the other way around?!? (Might even be that the SVCD file is suffering from a bad frame rate cionversion?)

i think it was ntsc and i convert to pal. is there not a way around this then?

The easiest solution is to keep the output file in the NTSC format. NTSC to PAL conversion can be quite involved and is not needed provided your DVD player and television can handle an NTSC signal.

and i convert to pal

ahh bugger. well a lot of my friends that i give my dvds to do not support ntsc for one reason or another. i guess i will need to re-encode the ntsc rips in tmpegenc dvd.
how to tell the difference between a pal and ntsc vcd? -
After you rip the MPEG from the VCD open it with GSpot. If the frame rate is 25fps then it's pal. Anything else with be ntsc unless you have a non-standard VCD.

well i guess its not a wasted tenner after all then. at least it will work on pal vcd's, thanks for the replies.
