After a request in this thread, I hosted a driver ISO for someone who had lost their original disc.
Fair enough. But in under 24 hours, I had gotten close to 100 downloads of the ISO, and another 130 of the R200 PrintCD app.
Not that this is necessarily warez, but I have to wonder. Are there really that many people who have lost their driver disc for (and who own) the R200? Is it because the term ISO was mentioned, that the Pirate switch was activated in their heads, and they just has to download it?
I dunno. Reminds me of a few friends who would tell me "I just downloaded Lotus Notes!" Me: "Why?" They: "Uuuuummmmm... I... Well, I don't know, but LOTUS FREAKIN' NOTES, Man!"
Basically, I'm thinking that some of these guys know that it's not warez, but something about being on a private server triggers this abnormal download urge.
On a sad note, no one checked out the web site hosting the files. They only downloaded the files.![]()

Damn! i'm not cramming my whole 1.5mbit connection with pr0n! MUST DOWNLOAD BOLLOCKS!
I've known a few people like that. they're the same people who go to lan parties and just copy EVERYONES hard drive! -
I know. People get pissed when they try to copy mine. It's all encrypted. We have a few people that monitor activity and what's going on. If people are blatently accessing other computers and copying their information or crashing and corrupting other people's drives, we'll have a security person hold them and wait for a police officer to get them. It doesn't happen very often, but it's usually young kids goofing off that do it. They have to pay for any damages and the repairs to be done by a professional to the other person's computer. The HOST will also charge a storage fee for holding the computer. The instigator has to pay for both, otherwise his computer gets sold and the money from it will cover the cost of everything. The HOST does not tolerate that crap going on.

I used to be into the warez scene about 6 years ago. I would download tons of stuff. I also used to upload tons and tons of stuff. For me and a few others it was a compitition on who could transfer the most, back then 6 years ago, we used to shotgun or modems (2 modems connect to the ISP) or for me later on it was ISDN. I had like 6 HDDs filled with tuns of crap I never used
Heck some of the suff I just zipped in my tag and just uploaded it to someone/where else, and didn't even know what it was
:edit:
I just did a search for my old nym on google groups (Deja news) amd my nym still shows up in net abuse
:edit2:

You'd be looking through his movie collection and you'd find crap like Crossroads or something. -
I just got bored of the "scene" and dropped out of it.
Surely you can come up with better material that I've posted than that. I think Craig did when I was first appointed a mod. -
I only download something if I need it desperately and can find it quick. I did it with Norton-AV 2003. But then a week later I went to the store and bought it. Nothing wrong with the version I downloaded, in fact I still have it saved to a CDR. But again, If I needed a certain application, I would download it and burn it to disc. I didn't download anything I didn't need or want.
I used to download music like crazy, but never burned anything. It got to the point where I had a 100GB slave drive that had only one folder of nothing but downloaded music. To save HDD space I spent 8 weekends burning everything to disc. Most of it was classical and 80's music. Haven't downloaded music in over a year though. -
When Napster was king I was a DL-ing mofo! I haven't snagged an MP3 in a while. Warez, I used to dabble, but how many apps can you use? If I want something, I buy it.

I dunno... maybe another reason for you to whore the "report problem posts" thread...
