Hello and welcome to the mac forum Ken.
At the top of our NLE ( Non Linear Editing)
suite of products if Final Cut Pro, which
is leaps and bounds above iMovie.
Then there is Final cut Express, which
is like iMovie Ultra, but has a learning
curve akin to FCP.
As far as DVD creation software, we have
the entry level iDVD, and my personal fave,
DVD Studio Pro 3."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

Thanks,
I have done with PC to convert old s-vhs and vhs to .avi file saved to hard disk. Sometime later when I am not using PC, burn to dvd but now I am useing miniDV and MAC. It is fun to edit again. I have try using friends MAC w/ FCP but needs time to learn. I have try Avid free but it had problem with my dv file, too much tracks. Is FCexpress are better than imove or it is about same? My friend had done many good dvd with imove but he spent a lot time to change things around and again...... .
I like to do quick and simple, and min. learning ..etc.
Is anyone knows such program?
Let me know
Thanks. -
It all depends on what you want to do.
For VIDEO: If you simply want to make fun stuff, and mix old video and new video, simple and easy is IMOVIE. FCE and FCP are both much more advanced and are packed with extras like Filters, Motion, and other various vid/audio options.
For DVD cration: Again, for easy operation and fun use I recommend IDVD. If you want superior quality and a full line of options, DVDSP3, but know it is much more advanced, and overkill for many.
From what your post says, I think you are a better fit to get ILIFE, it has IMOVIE and IDVD together with some other fun stuff. It is simple and easy. If you like what you get into, you can always spend the extra $ and upgrade to FCP and DVDSP. -
Just my 2 cents- Hope this helps-"What's a matter Colonel Sanders???? CHICKEN???!!!!
