  1. I have done searches everywhere and can not seem to find this hack. Also does anyone know whether or not I need to install a mod-chip to get this hack to work? Please point me in the direction of a site for this player. Thanks.

  3. The desciption from the board index:

Everything about standalone DVD Players, playing problems. CD-R(W), (S)VCD or DVD-+R(W) compatibility. [u]Region free and macrovision hacks[u]. Also questions regarding standalone (S)VCD Players, H+, DXR3, PSX or PSX2.

If it wasn't supposed to be asked why is in the desciption...

And why don't you look on the task bar on the left of your screen. See that section that says 'DVD Hacks'? I don't think you understand this site... The hacks would be there if the funds were there.

DVD hacks are NOT illegal - You are quite justified to ask if anyone knows a hack for a DVD player.
It is ILLEGAL SOFTWARE, SERIAL NUMBERS FOR SOFTWARE, SOFTWARE CRACKS and ILLEGAL MOVIES that you cant specifically request or give a link to.

    Tomamore,
    --------------
    1) Turn on your DVD player without a disc in the drive.
    2) Press setup on the remote control
    3) Highlight General in green by pressing the right button to move over it
    4) Press down once [this will bring up the setup section, make sure basic mode is selected and not expert]
    5) Press display button once
    6) It will now show the setting of your DVD player, use the buttons 1 - 6 to select the region you want.
    7) Press conditional memory once to save your setting.
    --------------

The above was c&p'd from www.dvdweb.co.uk

d4n13l, i was under the impression that you could only change the setting a few times, then you it wouldn't change anymore. is this true?

    I have absolutely no idea.
All I did was cut and paste the hack from another site, thats all. I am not a DVD hack overlord or anything.
I have a feeling though that you should be able to change it as many times as you like. Why would Pioneer cripple it so that it would only work a few times? Change it as much as you like... if it does stop working, that is a big if, take it back to the shop and get a refund .

  8. check out:
    http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/50-pioneer-dv-343-multi-region-dvd-player.html

the mod does not disable macrovision though.. I found the Techtronics Emod the best I could find. It did make my Panasonic RV31 a lot mmore useable (and did disable macrovision on the rv31)
