Do Not Download Norton SystemWorks 2003 From Kazaa!

My uncle tried getting it off Kazaa and it wound up f**king up his hard drive. He lost 7% of his HD after installing and running it. He tried reformatting and that didn't work. He then went to a friend of his who works with computers and they found out that there was a virus within Norton. They did get his HD fixed though. It seems like some people on Kazaa think they're slick.

Anyways, im just letting you guys know. I never use Kazaa for programs personally. I would rather get from a reliable source.

myself i dont trust downloading any program from Kazaa.

I had a similar problem to this happen to me but from Norton Systemworks 2003 from mIRC. What happened with mine was that the installation program was faulty and froze halfway through. Next thing I know I cant boot into Windows. Eventually after some tinkering in safe mode I got it to work. Now the only reminder is a black screen popping up before Windows boots saying SAVRT.VXD is missing. So it pays to be careful wherever you get the file from.

To get rid of this, run REGEDIT from the run prompt, do a search of savrt.vkd, and delete and line that points to this file. I'd make sure it looks like it came from Norton, but this will get rid of your 'reminder'.

Thanks Bel, I thought I had already gotten rid of all traces of it from my system but there was still one key left that Windows found after 10 minutes scanning.
