dvd2svcd crashes please help!!

ive been using dvd2svcd 1.2.2 b1 and older) with cce for back up's for the past 18 months, and never had any problems until now, pc constantly blue screens (win xp sp1) at various points in the process, besweet, puldown video encoding, have tried using d2sroba plugin, also crashes, have recently got a dsl connection so i am using some new software with that, such as kerio firwall(disabled when using dvd2svcd), azurues, dc++ some new games i installed and some other apps, are there any known apps that cause conflicts? please help its driving me nuts

Edit: ive check my memory and that seems to be ok, so there has to be a software conflict here somewhere

still no joy with this, does any 1 have a work around or alternative method for dvd to svcd conversion? looked at the guides not sure which will give me same quality results?

Could be codec conflicts. Download trial of Showshifter. When you install it, it automatically scans your system for dodgy codecs/conflicts and disables them. It's worked for me before. Might be worth a try.
