  1. Ok, I wanted to take my favorite episodes off of my new Tencacious D dvd (it's a 2 disk and it has some episodes and a live concert on disk1 and some episodes and videos on disk 2).
I wanted to mix and match, b/c I watched the concert and it was ok, but I'd rather have a dvd with all the episodes and the other with the concert and videos. Is there a way to take just the episodes from disk 1 and just the episodes from disk2 and put them onto one dvd?
Would I have to use DVDSP to do this or can I make a dvd with Toast - I'm still not very fluent in DVDSP. Lastly, if It can be done in toast, do I use no menu and it just autoplays? - Thanks everyone

  2. What I would probably do is fire up Yade X and separate all the parts I want as inidvidual VOBs. I would demux using ffmpegx and then select individual titles in Sizzle 0.1. This would mean no menus, but FFWD and Next chapter access on the DVDs.

A little bit of a longer way, but if you wanted to end up
    in DVDSP and then burn:

    1. Open Osex and save your tracks singularly as
individual elementary streams. This will take awhile...
    2. Your audio may need doctoring to aiff, if so
use mACE2dec to fix your audio.
    3. import individual pieces into projects in DVDSP.
one project for the episode disc, one for the concert disc.
    4. Set chapters in DVDSP as necessary, create menus,
    simulate, then burn.

    repeat step4 for second disc.

Rip both discs to your hard drive.
Use DVD2OneX's Join feature to combine the parts of each disk you want... Although its not intuitive at first, its a simple process than ripping, demuxing, reauthoring, losing sync, etc etc.

I play them in Apple DVD Player with the Show Info window open and take notes about what episodes correspond to which title set and running time.

  7. When extracting via YadeX, you can preview the parts you are extracting (down to the cell level) with the preview pane at the bottom of the window. You can extract only the parts you want and you can leave the rest.
