  1. Hi guys my last computer crashed , and im on a p300 for another week . Im currently using wmp9 to attempt to play divx/xvid/mpeg 1-2 files through my tv. The problem is it chews so much of the computers resources and freezes the video every 5 secs . Im looking for a media player that is more efficiant so i dont get the freezing. Ive tried using media player classic and no freezing , but cant figure out to turn overlays off (hence no video on my tv). Whats a no-frills efficiant mediaplayer that has options to turn overlays off ?

mplayer is probably as efficient as it gets.

Just configure your gfx card! Either set the TV as PRIMARY and the Monitor as SECONDARY or enable CLONE mode.

WMP7 and above are shite...try one (or all) of these:

    BSPlayer
    Core Media Player
    Media Player Classic
Videolan VLC (a MUST have anyway...and yes you can disable windows overlay with this one)
    Zoomplayer (ditto)
