  1. I have recently downloaded a film from a well known web site. the trobule is that when go to play the film all i get is a black screen with multi-coloured blocks at the top of the screen. The other thing is i have got sound. Plus according to gspot i have got all the codecs. Can someone help.

    Maybe someone better at this will follow but....

    Personally id try another player first Are u playing in WMP?
    A free pretty good one is VLC, it needs no additional codecs.
    Look in Tools here at site and search for VLC and you can read more.

  4. Can I ask another question. when burn DVD's using TMPGEnc DVD author first I put them on Packard Bell 1X DVD-rw. but when I put the same file a Bulpaq 4x DVD-R the film stops and skips in places what is giong on.

  6. I had trouble like this when i first started. Had 256 MB when i started on 4x had to upgrade to 512 md and so on also had to be sure nothing eals was runing.

  7. Can someone give an answer to my questions. One how can I get a film that has no picture just blocks but has got sound to work on DVD player using TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc DVD author. Second how come burned movie plays on DVD OK using DVD-Rw but when said movie jumps and skips using DVD-R disk. Please answer don't just tell me to buy the movies.

    Ask the "well-known web site" if they have a better copy. The old saying is "Garbage In - Garbage Out"

    I think the assumption that was made was that even "well-known web site" wouldn't have a complete movie for download (for free). They'd go out of business in a matter of minutes.

    Sounds like a media problem though. Fill out your computer details in your profile, and tell us what brand of media you are using.
