what to use with ARTEC

I have an Artec 12x DVD rewriter and have had nothing but coasters with it.

I am using Ritek original DVD-R discs ( with G04 dye) and copying in copy to dvd ( i have tried nero but it just wont entertain the dvds). What media and copy programmes has anyone used successfully.

I had no problems with the same meaia and copyprogramme on my old pioneer 105 (it has just died on me an i needed a replacement quick)

I have been having a similar problem with my the Artec 12X that I purchased in conjunction with a new system through Cyberpowersystems.com. It is, without a doubt, absolute trash. I have been unable to write anything faster than 2.4x (and that is after instructing Nero to determine the maximum speed). While DVDINOPRO identifies my MXL,Ritek,Ridata,Princo,Infodiscs in mySony DVDROM, it is unable to identify them in the ARTEC.

Cyberpowersystems instucted me to update the firmware of the ARTEC which I then did and noticed no difference. When I complained again and requested a refund or exchange I was told that I voided the warranty by flashing the firmware (even though they instructed me to do so).

Artec is absolute garbage...also I am unable to recomend Cyberpowersystems to anyone.

My immediate solution was to purchase a different burner and install it myself. If you somehow figure out a way to burn quicker than 2.4x on the Artec please let me know since it just sits in a box in the closet.
