This is not a new question here, it's one I needed answered myself, some time back. The answer is in the guides that are listed on the left. As an overview, you will have to convert (called encoding) the avi to an mpg format. Then you must author the mpg file(s) into the dvd format, which can then be burned onto a blank dvd. There are many varied ways to do this, with many different programs ranging in price from free to many thousands of dollars. Hint: price is not always your best quality guide. The information is here, read the guides, search the forums because many of your questions have been answered many times.
You probably won't get specific answers to the question you originally posed because the people here don't get peid for their help and they expect you to do alot of your own work. If you then come back with specific questions about steps you don't understand, you're much more likely to get help. Expecting other to do the basic work for you will likely get you flamed. Buy a divx dvd player.
Or click on CONVERT here to the left.
Or click on TOOLS and click on All-In-One DVD Converters.
