  1. hey, im sorta new at this and i have 4 video files ripped from a dvd and was not sure how much or what format i should compress them in and still be able to keep good quality. so far i was playing around with dvd shrink cause right now i have them in an image.

  2. I would put the dvd straight into shrink and let it do its job straight from the disc.

Do you want to archive the video on your pc or make a backup to watch ?

  4. You would only use shrink if you wanted to backup the dvd to another dvd.

If you just want to archive then I would read the guides in the convert section going from dvd to avi.

You might want to look at auto GK since it will do all the steps for you.
