  1. I've already searched both this forum and the web, but still cannot find the answer to this question. If it plays SVCDs but some people have run into problems with this particular DVD player, plz let me know.

    Thanks in advance

Will the makers of that player offer any help if you ask them? Is their any mention of that in the manual?

  3. I haven't read the manual or called their help service because I haven't purchased the player yet. I have made a couple of VCDs, and their quality was pretty crappy (playin it on my cousin's Apex), so I wanted to try to make SVCDs. I have had my eye on the Samsung DVDM301 for a while because of its dual laser feature, sleak look (too many players are big, bulky, and black), VCD playback, price tag, and other peoples' reviews about it.

  4. I own a Samsung M301 dvd player. I havent been able to play VCD samples in my dvd player. I'm using TDK data
CD-R which might be a problem. I'm planning to try and use a different(silver) CD-R to see if it works. I have seen
other people on this forum being able to play VCDs on the same dvd player.

  5. I just got the APEX AD-1500 for under $100, it play every brand name or cheapo cdr I throw at it, it play cdrw, VCD and SVCD, also it play MP3 and cd with an mpeg file. It worth every penny, picture quality is better than my old VCD stand alone player. One thing for sure is it is better than the APEX AD-500 , Goldstar, Samsung and GE. My friends say it is comparable to thier sony or pioneer as their player sometimes has problem with cheapo cdr.

  6. I was at Best Buy looking at DVD players, and when I put a VCD into a Apex, it did work. But a guy said that althought they play (X)(S)VCDs well, sometimes when playing a movie with alot of action happening on the screen (Matrix, for example), the player may not be able to read the data that quickly and stop reading the DVD. Anybody have this problem?
