  1. ok im new to this but here is what is happening, so please be kind!

im converting SVCD to DVD and everything works fine but when I play the movie there is a black space ontop of the picture and the movie plays at the bottom of the screen. I figured that this happens while im converting the video using tmpg plus usually it was in full screen (keep aspect ratio) and just full screen and i still get that black bar! if you can please help

    Hello,
So you had a fullscreen movie and you used keep aspect ratio and it still got messed up?

Well, have you tried full screen or any of those variations? Also, in the source aspect ratio selector you could use 4:3 display. The 4:3 display may be your best bet if the original was already full screen. Hope this helps.

  5. Method 1:
First you want to encode them using a resolution of 720x480(if your encoding for NTSC) even if your movies height is less then 480 vertical. Encode the movie as widescreen (16:9) and in your DVD player setup set your TV display to widescreen, or 16:9 aspect ratio.

Your movie will look a bit stretched vertically, but it will be fullscreen.
This is one method, I came across by using wrong resolution sizes for encoding my Anime.

    Method 2:
If your using Tmpgenc you can set the source aspect ratio to 16:9(advanced options), and set the aspect ratio to 4:3(video options). I haven't tried this but I'm sure it will work. For video arrange method I'm not sure which aspect ratio it is referring to when it says "keep aspect ratio". I'm gonna assume thats referring to the source which is 16:9 (so I wouldn't use any settings that say "keep aspect ratio".

    I hope this helps.
