Hi. i have one question regarding S/PDIF. What is the maximum channels it can support. Can S/PDIF stream 6.1 surround sound (for example DTS ES audio stream) using either Optical input/output or Coaxial input/output. The reason is i want to output 6.1 channel from a dvd (lotr: extended edition) from my playstation 2 (i dont have a dvd player) to an external decoder (Creative DDTS-100) then to the 6.1 speakers (Megaworks 650D)

sPDIF/optical supports up to 1536kbps, possibly higher. if they can cram 10.1 tracks into 1536kbps then spdif will support it.
your PS2 will just output whatever soundtrack is on the disc, the important thing is if your decoder can decode 6.1 (quick google search suggests it does)
