O.K. Folks I need your help.

I am Enterprise onto a DV camcorder.
Dumping the file to the PC via FireWire.
    Edit out comercials.
    Render to new AVI
    Compress to MPEG1 for VCD
    1) Tried Adobe Primere 6
Took WAY too long. (43min avi = 40+ houre)
Quality was un-watchable on a TV.

    2) Tried VideoWave4
Much faster but very blocky and no control of bitrate
    (true VCD only)

    3) Tried Ulead VideoStudio4
Fast but again only true VCD 1150k

    4) used TMPGenc
    Slower but good quality

The problem I'm having is this:

When I watch the VCDs on my TV they look like bad REAL MEDIA or QUICKTIME files. The peoples faces have blotchy shimering colors, or are pixelated.

I know they will not be DVD quality, but I was hoping to at least get VHS quality.

Are there better settings to use?

    Here's my info

    AMD 1.4GHz 256MB
WinXP - 2000 - 98SE (tell me witch gives better results)

    DVD Player = panasonic DVD RV31R-U CD-R max bitrate = 2100k
    TV = Toshiba 40X81 (16:9 40inch HDTV)

    44 min per CD =~ 1750k to 1850k

Recording ENTERPRISE from Over-The-Air and it is NOT perfect, some fuzzies, occational ghosts.

  2. If you used Tmpgenc then you should put your motion search in the video settings tab to be atleast high or highest.
