I haven't been to pricewatch in a while. Boy has it changed or what?
I think google does a better job![]()
I used to love pricewatch too. I think vendors just use it to manipulate the numbers now. Kinda sucks!
Some times I use pricegrabber, but they got that damn refurb site on almost everything.
how do you find the best price for what you're looking for?

I still use Pricewatch sometimes for things such as hard drives and optical recorders, but for more consumer-oriented electronics like MP3 players I hit Buy.com.
I also always check sites I've purchased from before and trust, before I check elsewhere to see if I can find a better deal, such as Newegg.com, Frys / Outpost, and Provantage.com, to name a few. -
I still goto price watch for some stuff. Usually I just check techbargains.com for deals or just hit newegg.com
There are a few of vendors doing lame things that hurts pricewatch.
If its a specific product I'm after I just use pricegrabber. -
I just bought a new 160 gb hd to replace a failing 80 gb, went to price watch, but all the vendors sucked, I ended up going to newegg, paid $10 more than the best pricewatch price, but had it in two days.

I also use newegg, but I also use tigerdirect and compuvest. Just depends where I can get it cheapest, or find it. Tigerdirect sometimes has it cheaper with the MIR.

Living in California, you have to pay tax on anything from Newegg, which could amount to quite a few bucks, when you're building a new system.
I found PCSS on Pricewatch, noted that they have good ratings on Pricegrabber and others and decided to try them. They had the best price on the Foxconn MoBo I needed, even lower than Newegg. They have free shipping, although you have to buy two items to get free shipping, I didn't notice that at the time I ordered. I found out and called them, and they removed the shipping charge with no problem at all.
Now they've updated Pricewatch listings to note that two items are required for free shipping, but you can always add some cheap item to get the free shipping.
I liked the fact that a real person answered the phone right away when I called, no phone menu hell and such, took care of the problem right away. I got my board quickly and I think this company is really trying to move up in the rankings of online retailers, like Newegg has done. So you might want to check them out if you live in CA, or for comparing prices with Newegg. No doubt Newegg is great, I just wish they'd located somewhere other than CA for offices.Ethernet (n): something used to catch the etherbunny -
Pricewatch has definitely gone down hill but I still use it on occasion. Pricegrabber sucks a lot. Slickdeals is sometimes really good but rarely.
PCSupplySource is where I bought my burner. They are ok I guess. -
At least Pricewatch tries to disclose all the details. It used to be that you'd see the best price only to go to the vendor and find out they've inflated the shipping charges to make up for posting the lowest on Pricewatch. Once I wanted to order a compact flash card and the vendor was going to charge me $12 to ship it via UPS ground from Texas, our neighbor state
Whores
Needless to say I went somewhere else - I think it was newegg, and they included Fedex saver shipping for free or for 99 cents, I forget which
