  1. I just used ffmpegX to convert an .avi file to VIDEO_TS. I used dvd-hibitrate, decoded with Quicktime. Everything was fine, I played the VIDEO_TS folder and it looked great, but when i burnt it (Toast) it was in black and white when i played it in my set top player. I tried again decoding with mplayer and ffmpeg got stuck. the last thing the output said was "System is big endian" Any suggestions?

  2. Try again playing the burned disk with VLC. Does it play in color?

  3. Then the video is in color. Did you never got any similar issue before with your player?

  4. Nope, no other problems. its in color until its on a disc in my player. its changed the screen size too (WAS widescreen, not anymore) heres the file -

    VIDEO: mpeg4, 688x288, 25.00 fps. AUDIO: mp3, 48000 Hz, stereo, 143 kb/s

Please also send such information for the encoded VIDEO_TS folder.

  6. VIDEO: mpeg-2, size: 720x576, 25.000 fps, 4000 kbps. AUDIO: ac3, 48000Hz, 448 kbps

there ya go. thanks for the help major.

  7. Your TV set is NTSC or PAL?

  8. Im pretty sure its NTSC (since i live in North America) but it usually handles PAL discs no problem.

  9. You could try to force encoding to NTSC to see if it is the cause of your problem.

  10. No dice...

**ERROR: [mpeg2enc] Sample rate is greater than permitted in specified Level

  11. You need also to resize to 720x480 when encoding NTSC.

  12. That seemed to do the trick. Thanks major.
