Does anyone know how to fix a corrupted MPG? I was transferring data from my iBook to my external firewire harddrive and not realizing my cable was firewire and not USB I unplugged the cable. Hence, I corrupted the data because I did not eject the firewire harddrive before unplugging the cable.
I tried playing the MPG on quicktime, but it gives me an error that it is corrupted. So I did some research. I was finally able to find a player that I can view it. I used VLC. I have also tried VCDGear to fix the MPG, but that didn't work. I also tried separating the video feed from the sound feed and was able to save it as separate files.
I would want to join the two files, but they are not MPGs anymore. I used another program called MPGTXWRAP to separate them. Now they are .MPV and .MP3. I tried joining them, but am getting confused on to how to join them or finding antoher way to fix the original MPG. I am not good at TERMINAL, but I am willing to learn.
If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. I am now using a powerbook G4 and I do have a PC too, so if there is no Mac programs out there to fix this...does anyone know of a PC program that I may be able to resolve this issue?
