Has anyone used this 2 bay firewire enclosure for cd/dvd burners & hard drives? I'm thinking of getting one of these off of ebay. Anyone have any experience using a firewire enclosure like this? I'd appreciate any comments or advice.

Don't know much about them, but it should work just as well as any other external enclosure. I like the idea of using multiple drives and not having to piggyback. I wouldn't mind picking up that 9-bay enclosure and populating it with 400GB drives. Never know when you're gonna need 3TB+ of storage. Throw an inexpensive 12x burner in the 9th bay and VOILA! burn any of my ISOs to RW in a matter of min whenever I decide I wanna watch a movie. The sad part is, even one 400GB drive is gonna cost me more than the enclosure.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

They work great depending on the bridge board used. I wouldn't get just a 2 device enclosure, I'd be look to get at least 4 from it. FireWire has plenty of bandwidth to use. I also don't like the generic look of the enclosures I've seen. I actually want to get an aluminum ATX case like a PC-60 with room for a dozen drives and run a nested RAID array from that with a FireWire 800 bridge and a good power supply.
