  1. The guy at the store said it only came w/ starter inks? Is this tru? How long will they last. Since no one can figure out Good quality cheap price inks for this right now, im gonna have to buy retail for the time being.

I was looking at the R300 online and it gave the numbers of the cartridges it comes w/. Epson Stylus Photo R300 inkjet printer; one each of a black ink cartridge (T048120), cyan ink cartridge (T048220), light cyan ink cartridge (T048520), light magenta ink cartridge (T048620), magenta ink cartridge (T048320), and yellow ink cartridge (T048420 included <--------------------are these full cartridges or starters?

If they are full.. i think ill return my r200 and just get an r300.. would be about the same price

  2. R200 comes with the same carts as the R300
They are the same carts you buy as replacements
So they are starters in the fact that they come with the printer and are full because that's the only carts made for the printer

  4. was he also trying to sell you the replacement carts at the same time?

  6. That's Staples' way of having you buy a set of carts...The pimple-laden kid said the same to me when I bought my R300....and I wasn't falling for it. The R300 came with full cartridges.

I think this is a mith used by the sellers to get you to buy more carts at the same time as printer. Sure the first set wont last as long as they have to charge the printer up, but mine on my 900 lasted for long enough for me not to notice the diffrence between them and replacements...

Its not a total myth, some printers do indeed only come with "Starter" or"Primer" carts, its more rare these days though and most come with full carts.

    http://www.stuff-for-computers.co.uk/acatalog/DVD_minus_R.html

They both seem to be out but thats down to the fact they are well nice, slightly more pricey but well worth it.

I have had my R200 for about 5 weeks during that time I have printed roughly the following:-
50 A4 text pages, 5 A4 High Quality Photos, 11 postcard size photos, 10 DVD Covers, 5 CD's, 5 CD Covers and backs. Plus a few other odd things Quantities are appoximate but near enough for a good guide.

Ink levels on all the original cartridges are now showing between 60% and 40%

I have bought a full set of compatible cartridges, but I have not tried these yet.

  18. yes i switched to landscape and i used both CoverXP and adope photoshop. Both left a little white . 1 mm on 1 side , and on the other side printed to the border. Problem is, the picture runs off the page about 2-3mm i think.. so its missing that part of the picture. It doesnt make sense tho since the paper is 11" and a cover is 10.8" It should fit the WHOLE picture and still have white space left. Why cant i get it to print so that it prints on 1 page.!

Are you selecting "Borderless" from Properties -> Main -> Advanced in the print dialog box?

(I presume you have the paper size set right!)

    He's talking cr*p - BUT !!!

Because the printer has to fill and purge the heads, the first set of carts put through the printer will last SLIGHTLY less than any subsequent ones you use for the same jobs.
