  1. Does anyone know the answer to this? I've got a VCD I think is encoded in NTSC and it comes out very distorted with coloured boxes all over the TV screen.
Could this be because my TV is PAL only?
Or does the DVD player convert it before it gets to the TV (meaning it must be a problem with the VCD)?

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    btw
I know my player can do both because it says on the sony site
    DVP - S336
    Specifications:

    Video
    Playback: DVD/CD/Video-CD
    Video D/A Converter: 10 bit
    Signal Format System: NTSC/ PAL

  2. Most DVD Players I know off do automatic conversion of PAL <=> NTSC, however, it may not be relevent to yours, I suggest you try playing that VCD on your PC to see how to colours are to make certain.

Make sure ya playback using just the scart as this truly enables NSTC! No aerial as they can cause a stir amongst the player and connections!!
