Let me guess: the next version of Roxio will be priced at $899 retail, and will come with a hardware dongle, a 400-page manual, and a certificate entitling you to a 5% discount on the attendance fees of their five-day training seminar on how to use it.

  6. Roxio's software has left me less than impressed for years. I think easy CD creator 5 was the end of it for me.

Roxio is also changing it's name to napster as it will focus strictly on napster.

Scenarist is one of Sonic's absolute top of the line software products, and isn't even marketed for the consumer anyway. Sonic makes lots of affordable software. MyDVD is a decent authoring package that runs for as little as $50 and comes bundled with alot of DVD burners. They also make DVD slideshow authoring software that is only about $35.

I can't imagine that the current Roxio line will change much after Sonic's acquisition. Its been marketed as a "cheap and easy" solution and I'm sure that's how it will stay.

I liked the software when it was Adaptec. Nice, straight to the point, easy to use... I think I'll stick to Nero for my copying needs from now on.
