  1. Hi all. I've got a load of cartoons (daria / south park) on Rm & have been impressed with the quality/file size ratio (~1mb/minute). Other than the usual gripes (proprietary codec, have to install realplayer) can anyone think why i shouldn't convert all my avi cartoons to RM?
Also: how? does anyone know how to convert to RM? There's nothing in the guides. Mostly i'm starting from AVI but also VOB & sometimes mpeg (especially useful since RM can be up to 20X smaller than MPEG).
    Cheers all.

If you just want smaller file sizes with almost equal quality, why not consider DivX? I have had excellent results using DVDx to convert DVD and other file types) to DivX (many other tools for this conversion...I just happen to like DVDx...)

Most people want to convert RM to something else (Anything else. ) I would second using XVID or DIVX instead of RM. However if you must.... Here are three links to look into:

    http://www.allformp3.com/convert-avi-mpeg-rm/avi-mpeg-rm-converter.htm

    http://www.audioutilities.com/rm-converter/avi-mp3-rm-converter.htm

    http://www.realconvert.com/

    No recommendations, good luck.
