  1. I don't know if it's ever been discussed, but is it possible to burn a DVD as a CD?

Why? I'd like to burn a DVD as a CD in hope that my CD player will read it. Now, the CD player might not even pick it up (maybe someone knows for sure?), but if it could and there is some way to burn a DVD as a CD, I'd really like to learn about it.

Whether it be tricking the DVD writer, the CD player, the burning software, or editing a disc image, I'd like to give it a shot if possible.

No amount of trickery can make a cd player play a dvd.

I think he probably means playing a DVD movie disc in his computer's CDRom drive. If that's the case just check out the countless DVD to (S)VCD conversion tutorials in the GUIDES section.

Yes, but in way that my CD player can read it.

Maybe this will help: is it possible to burn a CD image on a DVD?

  10. You can burn audio files to a DVD and play them on your DVD player if you player supports playing MP3, etc.

But in no way can a CD player read a DVD of any sorts

    Hello,
If your trying to fit as much audio music as you can to play in your player, get a mp3 cdplayer. That is probably your best bet.

They are very cheap these days (mine was $50USD and I'm sure you can get them for less) and you can fit a ton of mp3's on to a 700mb disc.
