I have owned both the Aver studio capture card and the pinnacle usb 2.0 capture but whenever I connect and hook everything up it just looks like complete crap on the computer. The composite connections look half decent, but the turner looks like crap. Has anyone owned either of these prouducts then moved on to something much better for them, I didn't want to have to buy a tivo but I get weaker with each card I try.

Keep in mind that video viewed on your computer made for TV can sometimes appear to look like crap. It will look fine when you view it on a TV. Try viewing it on a app made for viewing TV video such as power DVD.

  3. The tuner in the AverTV cards isn't that great (I've got one). Some folks use the tuner in their VCR or the outputs from their cable/sat box instead, hooked up to the composite or s-video input of the cap card.
