  1. I'm trying to setup a system for capturing analog video. I recently bought an Osprey 200 hearing nothing but great things about the Osprey line of capture cards. I found the card introduces quite a bit of noise to the video. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice video capture card that doesn't introduce lots of noise. I have a Pinnacle Systems DC10plus that produces very nice video, though it won't work in Win2K. It's kinda funny -- to get the DC10plus working and stable I have to run it on Win95! Any recommendations of nice capture cards would be appreciated. Thanks!

Looking at your sys spec's a 450 mhz most likely does not have the resources to handle software encoding type cards

My preferance would be a usb hardware encoder type that does both audio and video in the box as they use little sys resources other than hdd data throughput. Run a speed test on hdd.

http://www.adstech.com is one such product line that "may" work with your limited system. I used the IDVD-2 with a amd 450 but had to limit bitrate to 4mb/s or less due to hdd limitations. Using a usb-2 hdd improved that up to 8 mb/s

Snazzi capture card that does MPEG-1, 2 and 4(DivX)

I like Snazzi products. They are a spinoff company from Dazzle, who made the superb DVCII capture card.

  5. The DC10 card is now compatible with XP/2000. You can download the drivers via the Pinnacle Web Site. http://www.pinnaclesys.com
