hi, this is a long shot but i'm completely out of ideas.
my problem doesn't fit into any of the other sections so this will do i guess...
basically i burned several dvdr from my computer to take abroad but didn't have time to check them all. all are multisession data dvds burned using a sony +/- recorder on xp. the computer i'm trying to transfer the data to is also a sony/xp pc.
the problem is a strange one. four of the dvds (video files, word documents and .rar files) are absolutely fine.
however, two of the discs refuse to mount when you put them in the drive. (ie - the dvd drive led comes on briefly, makes the reading noise but then nothing happens). if you open 'my computer' it even removes the drive icon as if the dvd drive doesn't even exist within the pc!
of the two 'corrupt' discs, one is completely mp3 files and the other is various program files. both are about 4gb and were burned in nero at the same time as the working dvds.
i tried using isobuster, which is where it gets really puzzling....isobuster can read the discs fine and i even managed to steal a couple of files from one of the blighted dvdrs but the bulk of the files are still stubbornly unmoveable despite being apparently intact (right sizes, format, composition etc).
i really need the contents of these dvdrs so i'm not prepared to give up until i've asked here. any ideas?
