I usually grab 2 700 or so meg bins and put them on 2 cds, takes about 3 minutes a disk once its "ready to go".
Question is I want to put my movies on dvd-r but I heard it can take hours. How long would it take to put your average 2 disk release on dvd-r after its "ready to go"?

A lot depends on your computer. processor . memory. hard drive etc. I usually get 2 bin file movies (SVCD or VCD) converted in 25 minutes or so often times less.
I have a theory it also has something to do with the quality of the film, the better quality ones take the longest, maybe algorythems or something
(I said that so it looked like I knew what I was talking about. pity I couldn't spell it LOL) -
Takes my system around 20 mins to convert 2 files like that using svcd2dvd. Then about 5 mins to burn on a 4X dvd burner.
Thats using a 8 meg cache drive.
Used to take about 40 sih mins on my old 2 meg cache drive.... to convert files. Not bothered by small problems...

It will take longer to convert than to burn in your dvd burner....
Best place to get media, now there is a good question..Depends on where in the world you are. Pop up the forum to the "Media" section and look in there for info.
Personally i stick to Ritek Printable disks. Never had a problem with them. Not bothered by small problems...
