  1. Is there a way to set up a disc such that you can jump back and forth between titlesets (ie, vts_01, vts_02, etc) with the press of a button on the remote?

In other words, I want to allow the user to jump between titlesets in the same way as they would between chapters.

To jump forwards, I can figure out a workaround by putting a chapter stop right at the end of each titleset (ie, so it goes to the end of the current title, then immediately continues to the next title), but I have no idea how to do it so that it'll go backwards to the previous titleset.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  2. you can do this by setting the menu return button to go back to the last object (can be a movie or menu or whatever) using PRE commands. But I don't know of a way to do this specifically with the chapter buttons. Some DVD players will go back to the previous point on their own. I have one player that does, one that does not. Hope that helps.

Each title is a new chapter already.

Jumping among titles (regardless if they are in the same VTS or not) with the next/previous buttons on the remote is a feature on some players but not all, as Skynet107 mentioned.
So in short, no, you need a menu.

There's a workaround where you can use the Title button for this. You can make the Title Menu PGC a branching object to all titles depending on a certain register value. So for each title PGC, in the pre command section you set this value to reference the previous title and in the post command section to reference the next title and you call the title menu PGC. That way if you press Title it will jump to the previous title and if you let the title finish playing (or jump to the end with a small chapter as you mentioned) it will jump to the next one.

  5. Thank you all for the replies! That was exactly the info I was after, so it was a big help to me.

BTW I didn't mean that the remote's chapter jump buttons specifically had to be used. I just meant that I wanted to make any two buttons on the remote function as "one touch" title jump buttons.
