I will be interesting to see how 'non private' these accounts will be since advertising will be based on key word searches within your emails.

I'm wondering what would happen if certain FBI keywords were used. "IRAQ, Alquida (sp), and others" .... maybe ads for "bomb plans delivered to your door"

Its just like google. If you type in "how to build a network" then the ads on the left hand side are somewhat network related. That is all. People really need to shut off their paranoia.

I really don't think g-mail is so scary. free e-mail services i'm sure can be monitored/intercepted by pretty much anyone. email isn't secure. it doesn't take a genius to work that one out. contextual ads give me a 1gig account, bring it on! i never look at ads anyay, i seem to have developed a hardware ad-blocker!

1GB would be worth having an account. Do you know anything about attachment size limits or ftp capabilities?

AS far as the no ads, thats because your NOT inside an email.

On the attachment question 10meg limit, and NO FTP, they do not mean this for file shareing. Its a different way of handling email.

Update: your right for some reason I'm getting no ads rightnow, but I had them earlier so I image its tempory.

I find the ads to be way less intrusive than yahoo mail or hotmail. Just a few text links down the right side. No big obnoctious banners anywhere....
