I own and like studio 8 for it's editing capablities. However I'd like to find out if it will frameserve to Canopus express. I believe in using express I can improve on the rendering time and quality. I plan to use mpeg 2, 2-pass, VBR to render DV I shoot. I will then author the output to DVD with my TDA. In using express, if it does frameserve, I believe that I use the AVI tab in studio, pick express as the encoder, and then pick options to set parameters for express. Does anyone have experience with using these two programs together?

Found answer to my own question thanks to Satish post on his Debugmode.com forums website. In reply to question on frameserving from Studio 9 (so I'm sure this applies to Studio 8): "No, pinnacle Studio does not have a public SDK to use for developing plugins like a frameserver." That is, you cannot frameserve from Studio 8/9. You'll have to output an avi and pull into Canopus.
