Just under 4 miles each way. Funny thing is I still drive to work. It's a 49cc moped, but I could easily walk it if I gave myself enough time.

jakol, there is no chance in hell you could cover ten miles in 12-15 minutes in the UK, especially not at peak traffic times.
I was lucky enough to get a great job in the same village I live in, and my two miles takes me an average of six minutes.

From home to the nearest semi-decent town is just over ten miles, takes about 9 minutes if i do 90 on the dual carriageway

Work is just under two miles - but i drive.

I drive from Swindon to Shrivenham which is a small village on the outskirts of Swindon. I go through Severnhampton which is apparently where Ian Flemming used to live. There are still some very rural areas just on the outskirts of the sprawling metropolis that is Swindon.
