I was curious If I purchase a DVD/VHS combo, will it output the VHS signal through the Component or S-Video outs?
I'm trying to run a single set of Component Cables to my projector, but could also run a S-Video cable if needed for VHS.
Thanks for the help,
Brad

Hello,
I'm not an expert on the combos as I don't have one, but I'll offer an opinion. I would suspect that the vhs and tv signal will have to go through the svideo cable (or rf antenna cable). I believe this because they aren't true digital signals. They have to be processed differently. By all means try it with just the component cables. I don't believe it will work.
If it does work post it here so others will know. I hope it will give you a better picture but don't expect it to work. Good luck.
Kevin
P.S. Sorry to be negative but I'm doubtful, things that should work never seem to.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Unless things have changed in the last couple years the component out will only work with the DVD side and the S-video will work with both. The only way to find out for sure is pick a brand and model and check the manual for proper hook up.
