    Another very basic question. When I play miniDVDs on my computer, which has stereo speakers, everything, voices especially, sound as if they're in an echo chamber. What must I change to get natural sound? Thanks for any help.

    you're perhaps running a special equalizer function on your sound card without knowing it. perhaps you're downmixing the surround sound in a crappy way.
