Since no one else hopped on this one, heres what i do:
For DVD-Rs i put them in slimcases and print labels when i get the chance. Theyre 50 for 10 dollars at Frys Electronics (Meritline brand colored cases)
For CD-Rs i purchase a 200-cd booklet from wal-mart for..I think about 15 dollars, not sure i havent bought one in a while.
I wouldnt recommend storing dvds in a cd booklet unless you have too many and space is a problem or you're on a budget, or whatever. People have their own preferences. Personally, I see dvdr as cd-case worthy, same as i saw cd-r cd-case worthy some 3 or 4 years ago. And when blu-ray comes out ill have them in cases and will probably migrate all my dvdrs to cd booklet in the end. But I heard dvdrs are more susceptable and sensitive to scratches, its probably a load of bullshit but thats not the reason i put them in slim cases. I like the cases because I like to at least have a front label for a dvd movie, havent gotten into the retail-style dvd cases due to costs, printer ink cost, and space. (multiply a few hundred dvdrs and put them in cases, thats a space issue) -
I use a double sided softsided plastic holders that I put in CD type metal baskets. (CD Prosleeves from CaseLogic) These are left over from my two disc SVCD days. Kind of a pain to check both sides of the holder for the DVD I want, but I still have a large stock of them. One advantage is they take up little space compared to the regular plastic DVD cases. I will probably change over to the binder method some day.

I use only real dvd boxes (retail style) and print out the cover (which can be easily obtained from the web...) and stack them up on a shelf... in such high quality movie it's worth the few extra bucks, plus there's all that talking about them dvds being sensitive and stuff...
With all due respect... and there is respect... -
regular plastic cases, cd or dvds....slim or regular.
DO NOT use any paper or anything like that....the glue causes problems. -
I am using stand. dvd cases right now. But the problem is that the covers use alot of ink. I printed like 15 to 17 covers and used half my ink. I was thinking about books but i thought it would damage the dvd's. So Is there a way to print covers with low ink and still get a good pic. or a diffrent way to store dvd's that won't damage

I store all my DVD's in books. I put special ones in DVD cases. I try to keep CD's in cases as the media is on the surface. I believe there is more of a chance of damage in books as the surfaces can rub against each other. DVD's on the other hand have the media sandwiched between two pieces of plastic (or whatever material is used) therefore being more durable. Haven't had a problem yet.

I store my dvds in slim cases. I use Ant Movie Catalog (free and no
spyware? to keep track of my movies and print dvd\cd inserts. You can also design your own DVD/CD inserts with this program. When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!! -
I bought a 50 pack of these pages from RIMA:
After months of searching every store and website, I still haven't been able to find extra wide "oversized" binders so I use regular binders and the sleeves stick out a little. Other than that, they are great. Real high quality sleeves. -
I use these with a 3" wide (on the ring side) binder
