  1. What is the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R? What should I use to make dvd's for movies that i make. My burner supports all formats.

  2. ok, it would help to tell us your burner

If you burner is dual format then it really doesn't matter what disk format you use. I started using DVD-R because of better compatability with standalone DVD players. Then as soon as my cousin got a DVD+R burner. I only bough the + variatey to suit both of our needs.

The important thing around here is what media( who manuafactered your disks) you use. If you are using this for home backups or do like at most 30 disks a month then I would only buy 1st class media not to risk sloopy playback. 1st class media is only $0.20 -$0.35 more a disk. the difference in 10 disks is a meal from McDonalds. I can live with that for quality burns and no headache of sloopy playback.

To get 1st class media go to the media forum and look for decent deals and then compare them to http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm if they are 1st class media.
