Funny I should be the one to initiate another great Taiyo Yuden deal. Several forums have mentioned this, including here, however, the title of the post was bland and most probably wouldn't of guessed they could get 4x Taiyo Yuden disks for about .67 each.
Best Buy has a sale on Panasonic DVD-R's. Apparently the picture on their site is not current and many people have reported getting 4x Made in Japan Taiyo Yudens. It is a $20 M.I.R and people have stated that Panasonic isn't the best when it comes to getting your rebates, but I also heard that regarding Office Max. I've never not gotten a rebate from Office Max and got two more last Thursday. A $12 rebate for 100pk slimline jewel cases/Belkin, and a $45 rebate for a manager's executive Leather chair.
I make copies of everything so if you do the same then Panasonic will have to honor it. Even if they don't and you make copies, should a problem arise, Best Buy will in most cases honor the rebate.
Counting sales tax and less the $20 M.I.R Rebate the total price for me is about $6.74 for the 10 pack, which comes to about .67 each. Interestingly enough, this is the same price as shop4techs 8x Matrix/Taiyo disks. I'll get at least 10 of these Panasonic/Taiyos though, never used them so mine as well jump on em.
Please, no more blabbers about not being able to get Taiyos for such a cheap price. Always one or two of them, but i'm sure the other 99% will enjoy this deal.
Just make sure the product id is: LM-RF120LU10. These are Made in Japan 4x Taiyo Yuden manufactured disks.

That's just for 10, and only with a mail-in rebate. And the PANASONIC discs in there can be several things, and I've actually never seen the TY ones in there. Quite a different situation altogether.

smurf, I'm surprised you still have enough of a sack to post at all. I am pretty sure people are sick of listening to you post your crap. You just don't quit. I posted the product id of those disks which will have a TEN PACK OF ALL TAIYO YUDEN disks. If that product ID is purchased, which in most cases it will be, then ALL of them will be Taiyo Yudens.
Just stop your crap. Even in this post you find a way to post complete bullshit. The disks will ALL be Taiyos and for only .67 each. I already said it was a M.I.R so there was no need to repeat it. I'm surprised the forum administration hasn't gotten sick of you already. I guess you've probably legitimately helped a person here and there, but even those people have to be thinking that you're a jackass. You once again found a way to make yourself be just that.
You are in breach of the forum rules and are being issued with a formal warning.

I just checked the Panasonics I got from Best Buy and they are indeed TYG01 according to DVD Identifier. Great deal if I get the rebate back.

Scan a picture of label, and then post a DVDInfoPro Media ID descriptor, and let's see if they are the same discs available at Panasonic's e-commerce site...
BTW: If one has a little bit of common sense you can get many more then one 10 pack.
indolikaa, you said you "can't" get Taiyos for such a low price anyway, so why are you concerned about this deal?
Like I said when I initially posted this, there would be one or two of these blabberes with no clue. For the other 99%, you haven't ever gotten Taiyos for this low of a price EVER, so enjoy the deal. I know I will.
Oh, and so far only two others specified these were Taiyos, that's not enough for smurf, he said "he's" never seen the Taiyo Panasonic disks, so once again he must be right because he has so many posts and blah blah blah. Yawwnnn.

If you have close relatives/friends that won't swipe your check, you can normally get away with it a few times. Not sure how much effort it's worth on just 10 DVDs each time.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Getting on the "Friends and Family Plan" just to save a little bit and wait forever for the rebate is WAY too much ******* effort. Just the single rebate is too much effort to most. Give a sweet deal and be done with it.
Why don't you submit these deals directly to thedailydeals.com? I'm sick of these stupid near-spam posts that almost always erupt into meda/flame wars.

Just because you may not want to wait for any rebates doesn't mean many others won't want to. Some have already purchased these so they obviously could care less about your views. I think they obviously learned basic math and realize that there's saving a lot more then a little. In addition, there has never to date been a deal on "MADE IN JAPAN" Taiyos for as low as .67 each.
BTW, what is it exactly that i'm spamming?
-
Actually, it's a universal truth: NOBODY wants to wait for these ******* rebates. It's just that sometimes, they have to.
I said near-spam. That means posting these "I found TY media" and fervently defending/lauding them. That's nearly in the same category as "Guaranteed 2 inches to your p3n!s" ads that you have to sift through.
$2.50 per disc?! Where on shop4tech are you looking? I saw them in the $1.20-$1.70 range.
And lay off smurf already. His post count means shit to most everybody here. It's his expertise and willingness to help that have gotten him the accolades from this community.

I just received my Samsung 50 packs from newegg.com and they were Yuden codes at 86 cents apiece.

You were obviously hoping for an Instant Rebate and got pissed and deflated when you realized it wasn't instant. That's too bad. I can't control how Best Buy operates but it's pretty clear that they offer Instant REbates on media most of the time when it is their rebate. When it is from the manufacturer it isn't instant. Instead of whining about it, if you don't like the deal then don't respond. Your post was useless to anyone here. If you are so concerned about instant rebates i'd keep an eye on these disks because Best Buy might just offer their own "instant" rebate on them in the near future.
As far as laying off lordsmurf, I think it's the other way around. There was really nothing meaningful he could add to this post. He was still clearly obviously bitter about the Ritek discussions and felt the need to come behind me with more bogus information. Lordsmurf apparently tests a lot of media, so you'd think someone like lordsmurf would know better. A comment from him would generally hold more weight then one from your average user or noob. So by him saying "they haven't seen Taiyo Yuden Panasonics" that's basically saying, no, these just are NOT Taiyo Yuden Panasonics because I haven't seen them, they must not exist.
Had I not responded here, then many others would of read this post and figured, oh yea, smurf has 5 zillion posts they must be mixed Panasonics. His response would of been fine considering it in this thread alone, but it wasn't from this thread, he just felt like grasping at straws and posting more garbage here. Why? Who knows, you'll have to ask him.
As far as the price goes, these OEM Panasonic/Taiyos sell for $2.50 the same price Best Buy sells the 10 pack Fuji DVD-R Made In Japan Taiyos for. That's where I get the price from, directly from Best Buy and pretty much anywhere else that sells those disks. With the Rebate the price goes from $2.50 to .67, so as I said, a huge difference. Even at $1.20 a disk though that's almost twice as much as .67 so that's still a big difference especially when purchasing 100 or more. Sure, not too many people would want to front that kind of money but because I've never had any issues with getting my rebates, I don't have a problem with it.

Man, you really need to take a step back from these boards.
Again, your response was 100% meaningless. Look at your first post, there was nothing worth posting in it because it was just your feeling on the price of these disks.
BTW: I'm not going anywhere, because I know that the majority of the people on this forum look for valuable and accurate information. With posts like yours they certainly aren't getting that from there. You almost sound like a Clone of Lordsmurf. "I SAY" it's too much effort to send in the rebate, I SAY these aren't Taiyo Yudens because I haven't seen them, I say supermediastore is the best and I could care less for Rima or Newegg. Yawnnn
