dvdcoverart.com's website is down, most likely due to copyright laws?
I have heard that Disney made them take down all the Disney cover art.

Its not just Disney but all of their susidiary studios, which is alot. I don't know the numbers, but they easily could have had to remove more than half of the covers they hosted. All but one of the custom covers I uploaded there were removed.
I think the last news post they had said they were going to be down for some time while they removed all the covers. Unfortunately, there's not going to be much left there once they are up again. It was a cool idea while it lasted but there is no denying that the covers infringed on both copyrights and trademarks, so if any given studio wanted the content removed, dvdcoverart had no choice but to comply. -
Just be patient. We'll survive this, just like always.

This sucks! I've noticed that it was down, but didn't realize why. This place had the best quality by far. Cdcovers.cc is lacking in Region 1 and the quality is often very poor. Yeah, they have a larger selection, but they are mostly European. I have about 600 covers if someone knows of a newer site that needs the recent movies.

Seriously though guys, a word of warning about cdcovers. Use it at your peril if you like adware, popups, and real vicious spyware installed on your computer. Use a filtering program. I got infested up to my eyeballs with spyware from the downloads on cdcovers. When I complained on one of their forums, I was told I was a whinger, and barred ! So you must accept their spyware, and be happy ! I've just spent a couple of hours with a computer wizzkid getting rid of the stubborn little scumbags embedded in my computer, and I think I'm just getting back to normal. You have been warned. NOTHING is for free..........!

Used Spybot, Pestcontrol, and a lot knowhow from a friend. I thought the problem was gone but I think its still lurking in there somewhere. The computer has slowed to snails pace and the Cpu is working at 100% ! Its spyware from a "gator" company which I have read is the most viscious, and difficult to get rid of. Round two tomorrow I think.

Spyware app ? Please elaborate, as I'm not too expert on these things. Yes, I am 100% certain its that website. I don't download anything from anywhere else, and there were other similar complaints from others on their forums, before they gag you and bundle you away so you don't scare away their clientele. There were complaints that the webpdp.gator.com spyware was being used.

I haven't received spyware from dvdcoverart.com. I am suspicious of cdcovers.cc because I've had pop-up boxes saying "I must click'yes' to continue the download". This is usually giving permission to put spyware on the computer. I always click "No" and am still able to get the download.
The problem now is where does one get high quality covers for dvds? -

If anyone needs art for the unremastered versions of StarWars Ep. 4-6, I have it in english. I also have cover artwork for the 'Greast American Hero' series. I might have others in a Data DVD, but I didn't mark which one so, I'd have to dig around for it. -
I might experiment with another option. Save the front DVD face off 'Amazon', and make up the rear and spine from 'Word' or 'Photoshop'. You can boost the dpi of the front face slightly in 'Photoshop'. The end result ain't too bad. At least this is safer bet than trashing my computer's health to the desease called "spyware". Make no mistake, from what I have seen whether its spyware, virus, trojan, whatever you want to call it, the hassle caused to you and computer are expensive and time consuming to rectify. As for the people that create this shit, or those that knowingly allow it to be attached to their downloads or websites in exchange for 'financial' benefits, they are the lowest of lowlifes in my estimates.

Funny how cdcovers.cc is still going strong. I am wondering what the REAL reasons that dvdcoverart.com is down. Some possibilites...
1. DVDCoverart charges for covers, Cdcovers.cc does not.
2. DVDCoverart offers cover printing services... -
DCA only charged for covers because they offered high-resolution images, upwards of two megabytes per cover. Every other cover site available overs, at best (cdcovers.cc) 300k downloads. In order to afford the high bandwidth costs and not succumb to evil spyware profits, the Powers That Be behind DCA had no choice but to charge minimal fees. When you think about it, though, the end cost was only about $.07 per cover, which is perfectly reasonable when you considered the quality, speed and stability they offered.
Let's get one thing straight: There might be other sites out there that offer similiar selection numbers, but nobody matched DCA's level of quality. Even if cdcovers.cc managed to up the resolution on their covers, though, they still are behind a couple ten thousand very high quality custom covers that made DCA so great.[i.am.quiller]
