Hi, I'm trying to get my first Computer DVD burner and have no idea where to start. I need a burner and a video in/out card to rip old VHS tapes and TV broadcasts. I need something that overrides Macrovision and can make an exact duplicate of a DVD (with features, etc). I have about a budget of $300 and am open to ordering online or going to a store. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

For Macrovision overrride, there are several gadgets that are plugged on the SCART path defeating the MacroVision protection.
For capturing from analog source, I would recommend the Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe USB, with a warning. It has a problem with the tuner. S-Video and composite captures are a wonder.
The Haupauge MPEG capture device has received better reviews and cost almost the same if not cheaper. The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
