Protection error in DVDShrink

Wow, this is the first time its happened since backing up 10+ dvds. After encoding 50% of "Freddy vs Jason" it says there is a copy protection error. Does that happen often after doing it halfway? Usually shouldnt it tell you if there is protection error in the beginning. I have version 3.1.

I got that error once, and it turns out the disc was scratched.

what other free software can I use to rip and burn besides DVDShrink?

dvddecrypter - sometimes it will work when shrink hiccups. I use decrypter to rip, and shrink to shrink.

dirty disc or scratched. i always use decrypter first. if the disc is bad its really not gonna matter what proggy you use

doesnt matter if u use dvdshrink or dvddecrypter to decrypt right? Just a matter of one being more compatible over the other? Shrink is the only one that can copy (burn) it?

I had a disc I could not back up and it was clean it was just a bad burn from the studio. try the same try another copy of the same title.

Studio discs are not burned, they are pressed. It helps to use the right words. :P
