  1. I just updated my Windows Media Players. Each time when I play a video, it plays to a certain point and it stops. It has a pop up saying...
"Windows Media Players does not detect any storage media in the selected device. Insert media into the device. [Close] [Web Help]

I am having a hard time figuring out what is the problem. Does anyone know?
    Please help this poor man.

I would try Media Player Classic and see if it works better. The newer versions of WMP seem to have problems for some setups.

Unfortunately the latest version of Windows Media Player is very difficult to uninstall. (Another wonderful bonus of Microsoft) You can do a Google search for 'uninstall windows media player' and get a few ideas. You may just have to live with it on the system.

I uninstall it! But now I need my old version back and I can't find it. Don't tell me I have to download the latest version?

  7. hi there is a way to remove the new media player.

try restoring your system back to the point before you installed windows media player through system restore which can be accessed by clicking on help and support centre on the start menu.

that worked for me; it allowed me to remove windows media player 10 and go back to 9!

    good luck

Although there is no reason to "need wmplayer back" there is still the old version available on XP systems. Do a search through the C: for "wmplayer2.exe" (I think that is it but this is from memory) this will be the original, I think version 6.4 or something.

  9. Hello,

Suntan is right Windows Media Player 6.4 is located in the same directory as Windows Media Player 9

    location: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER\WMPLAYER2.EXE"

    Good luck,
